About Us

Chuck Thompson, Owner of Alpine Tree Service

Chuck Thompson

Owner RM# RM7237A

Before starting Alpine Tree Service, Chuck worked as a licensed airline pilot. The erratic schedule and days away from home were taking a toll. He had experience working as a tree climber in Kansas City and knew he could make a business of tree removal in Grand Junction. Now 20 years later, Alpine is one of the leaders in Arboriculture knowledge and experience in the Grand Valley.

Chuck is very knowledgeable about the unique tree conditions in our high desert climate. He is an ISA Certified Arborist, a CDA Licensed Chemical Applicator, and is familiar with local species of trees and pests that damage them. In addition to this, Chuck has a Tree Risk Assessment certification as well as a Qualified Supervisor for Colorado Department of Agriculture. He has also been a leader in our local community even serving two terms on the Forestry Board for the city of Grand Junction. However, knowledge is not all Chuck has to offer. He is an overall nice guy, and works to provide fair and honest services to his customers, while treating his employees with a high level of integrity. He tries his best to ensure the customer is satisfied with the work completed by our crew and happily meets with customers to address their concerns.

With a Biological Engineering background and a particular focus applied to plant pathology, Brandon has firm knowledge on plant diseases. This includes leading research conducted on the Badnavirus in Blackberry bushes as well as the Rose Rosette virus in Rose bushes. On top of this he also has had a wide range of managerial lab experience spanning across academic and commercial settings including chemical, biology, virology, consumer testing, and manufacturing laboratories.

Since moving to Grand Junction, Brandon has been continuously working to build the Plant Health Care side of Alpine into the best the Grand Valley has to offer!

He is now an ISA Certified Arborist, a TCIA Certified Tree Care Specialist, a TCIA Certified Plant Health Care Technician, a council appointed member of the City of Grand Junction Forestry Board, and is also the owner and operator of the educational resource, Grand Valley Trees! A blog of his own creation to help relay current findings and topics relating to arboriculture in the Grand Valley.
